Why I’m Passionate About Mantra & Mudra As a Tool for Healing

"I grew up attending church and sang in the choir from an early age. These were my earliest experiences of connection to Spirit and unified consciousness as expressed through song. When I began practicing yoga, I found myself completely melting in my emotional body as we chanted… and all of the emotions I had been trying to express were suddenly broken open.  

Then, when I became a yoga teacher, I noticed a lot of students crying on the mat – having breakthroughs on every level and asking me for help and guidance in life. These experiences inspired me to get my Master’s in Psychology, become a licensed psychotherapist and dedicate my life’s work to integrating yoga, meditation and depth psychology.  

Sound, song, chanting, symbolic gestures… these continue to be the tools I use to support myself (and my students) in moving through difficult emotions like sadness, anger, depression and overwhelm. I’m excited to share some of these practices with you in this live virtual workshop.”
